Who are young people’s role models?

Its not a secret, we all look up to sport stars and movie-stars, high achievers, and people that have fame and success. But what is it that connects these people? The survey suggests that ‘kindness and being an inspiration’ are qualities that provoke admiration amongst young people, with nurses and doctors sharing the top spot, as people that are most looked up-to.

Those are things we can all bring to the fore in our own practice as professionals- showcasing and taking pride in our strengths, skills and talent, cascading knowledge and inspiring others to learn and pursue their own interests- Simply being kind, can have a powerful impact on a young persons trajectory, as they associate those behaviours with the people they role model –
